sweetswinks:  Oh no, I’m sorry about your diamond. Feathers are a nightmare, refuse to have them if at all possible for these reasons.

While I have to admit that the Asha can appear nice, it really is not a forever stone. I’ve heard plenty of stories and listened to bees on here talk about how quickly they scratch up and chip. You would need to replace it over and over if you did this.

Have you considered the Amora gem and moissanite? I would highly recommend the Amora gem because it is most diamond like with it’s cut and pretty white, it is also cheap compared to diamond. They come in quite a variety of sizes and different shapes. And plenty of places will offer to do a custom band for you, there are also some very nice ones predone on sites like betterthandiamond who would be able to set it for you.

sweetswinks:  I would also recommend moissaniteco site, they have amazing settings and a lot to choose from!

I would steer clear of asha. They are not durable enough for daily wear. Back about 5 yrs ago asha was very popular on the bee…but those ladies soon regretted their purchase. They scratch really bad on top of the stone and get cloudy. I remember a bee who had it for less than 6 months and it looked terrible and cloudy. I recommend moissanite. In hardness it’s just below diamond. The new forever one moissanite came out a few months ago and it’s colorless. Good luck.

Are you dead set on Asha I hear they are pretty much expensive cubic zirconia. I would look in to Moissanite or the Amora gem. Moissanite is less expensive then the Amora but a bit more expensive than the Asha. To answer your question I would be a little worried about it catching on something and breaking but I think if that were to happen that the stone would be fine it would most likely be the prongs. My ring sets up high and it snags on everything I just got the prongs fixed because they snagged and one got moved over.

sweetswinks:  oh and the new forever one square Moissanite shows no warmth btw. One of the bees on here bought one and said it was beautiful and tested as colorless. She had to return it though because it didn’t fit in her setting. I have a classic Moissanite and I love it so much I wouldn’t trade it for anything I plan to upgrade in the future and have another Moissanite. They are stunning. You can always order on from moissyco to see what it looks like. Good luck.

sweetswinks:  Both the moissanite and Amora gem are considered forever stones. Both are very durable, a diamond is a 10 for hardness and I think they are a 9.5 for hardness. And both would be eye clean and without feathers, so wouldn’t have the same problems as you did with your diamond.

If you get a moissy I would recommend that you get the Forever One, as PP has said. They are whiter, the FB regular moissys are known to show more colour and be moody. But as said it depends how diamond like you want it and Amora does have the better cut.

sweetswinks:  I used to own an Asha. I didn’t have any problems with mine, but like a PP mentioned, they are just a coated CZ. As such, they are prone to cracking moreso than diamonds are, so I’m not sure they’d be a good fit, from what you’ve described. I replaced my Asha with a Forever Brilliant moissanite just over a year ago and could not be happier with it. They are considered “forever stones,” just as diamonds are, so they won’t need to be replaced every few years like an Asha would.

Here’s the ring you’re considering with a square moissanite, you’ll notice there is not a large difference in price until you start getting into the bigger stones: http://www.moissaniteco.com/knifeedge-square-moissanite-solitaire-ring-p-11831.html

There are so many more videos out there just look at these pages Jhollywood also has videos of Amora gem. If you search tags of Moissanite or Amora gem even more videos from other companies come up. Hope this helps

I would go with an Amora gem rather than the asha.

sweetswinks:  How do you feel about a cushion cut stone? You may enjoy the cut in moissy better. Especially if snagging is a concern, the sharp corners of a square stone might not be ideal, anyway.
