I was engaged for six months and a few days ago I broke off the engagement. It was a long distance relationship because he was in the military but the two weeks that he came to visit me should have lead me to this conclusion long ago. The night before my ex fiance was going to go back overeseas, he pushed me into the wall and bruised my back. Later that night, he choked me down to the sidewalk. I should have left him then and there but I didn’t. I stayed in a long distance relationship that was ultimately doomed for failure. When he received his orders to come back to the states and he started talking about moving in together, I was a complete wreck. I had lived with an abusive man in a previous relationship, and I knew what my fate could be if I were to make the same mistake twice. I have learned that physical violence and abuse should not be tolerated PERIOD even if the guy lives too far away to cause any damage. After we broke up, he posted naked pictures of me online. Good riddance.

Good riddance is right! Good for you for breaking it off before he could move in with you and make your life even worse. That shows incredible strength on your part, and that you learned a lot from the first abusive relationship. You deserve someone who treats you like a princess, don’t settle for anything less!

Oh honey, I’m so sorry for what you had to go through and for what you’re going through right now. It takes a strong woman to do what you did. That poor excuse for a man doesn’t deserve you.
I wish you all the happiness and love that you do deserve!
