So Monday morning (I work from home) I was coming down the stairs back to my “office” and either mistep or slipped on the last stair in our house. When I fell I heard a crack and intense pain.
I laid on the floor in pain for like 4 min or so, and crawled back into my office to call my husband. Called him in a panic and told him to come home now, think broke my ankle
My Darling Husband ended up calling 911, and they came and got me out of the house. A lovely ride in the ambulance brought me to the ER.
Sat in the ER for a few hours in pain, the x-rayed it, yep I broke my ankle in to places and a torn ligament. They said I would need surgery to get everything fixed.
Now you are talking about a 38 year old who has never broken any bones or had any surgery before other than the “leep” procedure years ago. That and giving birth to my son.
So was freaked out, but they assured me that would fix me up properly. So later that day I had surgery I don’t remember anything of it, other than violently coming to aftewards.
My right ankle is wrapped up in a splint and the fracture was worse than they thought. I have 6 screws and wire in my ankle now…
Lots of pain meds and two days later on Wed I was released from the hospital after figured out in physical therapy how to get up stairs.
Right now I have a walker and a wheel chair to get around the house. Let me tell you this sucks big time.. I hate I can’t help taking care of my son like normally do, I hate I can’t play with my son on the floor…
