Oh my gosh everybody I am a mess.
Yesterday afternoon I was working out to a little Jillian Michaels DVD trying to tone-up my arms and back for my strapless ball-gown when the unthinkable happened. I dropped a 15-pound weight right on-top of my foot.
Yup, it’s cracked.
12 weeks before the big day and I have broken my foot.
The Dr. said that I would be fine by then and truthfully I feel fine right now. I have a big boot thing on and am at work and getting around okay.
The radiologist said that I’m actually very lucky and that the small bone that is chipped is not a weight-baring bone for walking and will impact walking very little.
However, I am so worried. I mean I have to walk down the isle and I want to be able to dance the night away and not be in pain or stuck at a table.
My dress is a big ballgown and I will be able to wear a brace or wrap it up without anyone knowing.
But, I am still so stressed out.
I don’t want this to ruin the day.
Between the drama on Sunday (if you read my last post) and this issue this last few weeks are getting awfully stressful 🙁
My fiance (who has been so wonderful) does not seem to understand why I am still upset even though I am walking now and the Dr. said I would be okay for the wedding. He does not understand the woman wedding stress.
I guess I am just looking for a little sympathy. Does anybody get it?

@March1stBride: Aw that sucks. Hope you feel better soon! 12 weeks is a long time to heal a small fracture, though. I am sure you will be just fine for the big day! Lots of ice and rest between now and then!

Just rest and stay off that foot as much as you can now so that it will be nice and healed by then. You should be fine!!

so sorry to hear. follow doctors orders and you will be back on your feet in no time.

@March1stBride: I’m so sorry! But you really will be fine. If it isnt a weight bearing bone, you will be more than fine! It should not take more than six weeks to be totally healed so by 12 weeks you will be dancing up a storm.

@March1stBride: So sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel better 2 days before my wedding I broke out in hives. I had them all over, my neck and even my eye lids. I was a mess. I have never had hives bofore and am pretty sure it was bc I stressed myself out. Just remember to take a deep breath and focus your attention on marrying your love. The actual commitment, not all the other wedding stuff! 🙂

That sucks!! But you have 12 weeks still, so don’t stress. I broke one of my foot bones a few summers ago and wore an air cast boot for 9 weeks. You should be fine by 12, especially if it’s not a weight bone. And those boots are pretty damn comfy so even if you are still in it by the wedding, you shouldn’t be too slowed down by your injury. I went to an outdoor concert with my sister only two weeks after breaking it and walked all around the lake and grounds and I was fine. Those boots are miracles! Good luck.

@March1stBride: 12 weeks is a good amount of time to heal a small fracture like that. Follow your Doctor’s instructions very carefully, eat well, and get lots of rest. I’m sure you’ll be feeling much better by the time the wedding arrives.

@March1stBride: I’m so sorry!! Just tell yourself that if this is the worst that happens, your day will be amazing!!! Rest it a lot and feel better!!!

@March1stBride: 12 weeks will be more than enough time 🙂 My dad had major ankle surgery, and after 12 weeks he was walking and in a normal shoe, so the fact you have a small break I have no doubts you will be back to normal by your wedding. Try not to stress too much. Stress can cause a whole other mess of problems.

That sucks! But I think you will be just fine!
I had a friend who broke her ankle in December and needed surgery and metal rods put into her foot. She was walking around fine in March!

I say sue Jillian Michaels and call David Tutera! LOL… no, I’m joking – hope I gave you a bit of a laugh. 😉
I’m so sorry for you! I would be freaking out too! Lots of rest and cuddles with the Fiance, and maybe a little fun… what about decorating your boot? Go all out sparkles and lace, “I’m the bride” or “I do” or “Just Married”? Glitter is a wonderful thing! 🙂 Plus, if you use acrylic paint or sticky crystals, it can be removed or painted over. Just something silly and fun to brighten your mood!
Feel better soon! 🙂

if it’s fine now, it should still be fine in 12 weeks.
