@FrenchNewlyWed:  It’s hard to be sick away from home.

If you have bacterial bronchitis and have been precribed antibiotics, you should be feeling better within 48 hours.

If you were not prescribed antibiotics that means that the doctor thinks it is viral, and will get better on its’ own.

Here is some more info:

Hope you are feeling better soon!

I get this almost every winter. It helps to take guafenisen (I probably spelled that wrong). It’s an OTC expectorant and it thins out the mucus so you can cough it up and get rid of it faster. I also take long hot showers and drink lots of tea for the steam. Elderberry tea with honey and lemon juice is amazing. I drank gallons of that stuff the last time I had bronchitis and I got over it a lot faster than I usually do. I can’t say for sure it was the tea, but it definitely can’t hurt.

And of course, try to rest a lot. But don’t lay around. You should sit up and let those lungs expand.

I do lots of tea AND something that I think is the best kept secret–all natural eucalyptus oil. Just a few drops on the bottom of your feet, sleep with socks, and no couhging all night. It worked for my husband when he got sick over the winter.
