We used gold on our brown envelopes and found the Pentel Sunburst Metallic Gel Roller was perfect.  It was thick enough (0.8mm) that it showed up very well but didn’t run on the paper and was very smooth, not like some of the other gel pens out there that you have to go over certain letters again after writing them the first time because the ink skipped.  They do have a copper/bronze but it is in the 0.4mm thickness and you may want to go a bit thicker depending on the look you like.

Also, I found some great pens that I might have used if I hadn’t already found my Pentel Sunburst ones.  I found them at Aarons Brothers Art and Framing (your profile doesn’t say where you are from so I’m not sure if that helps at all).  They had a decent art supply section and some really nice pens.  I can’t think of the brand though, sorry.  But be sure to look at art supply stores for ideas, don’t limit yourself to just craft stores and scrapbook locations.
