I would do the navy with the blacck shoes since they will match the maids better. You could have a black tie or something to tie it all together. 🙂 I had to google a picture of this and it actually looks pretty good. I’m usually a brown shoe person with navy tux, but not in this case.

atelle01:  i also vote for black shoes, they would match better with the BMs and it is more formal. I like Navy and dark brown shoes together as well but for a wedding, I’d choose black

Although brown shoes look nice with navy suits, there is really only one acceptable color shoes for a tuxedo-black.

black shoes can be:
· patent or highly polished leather oxfords (most popular)
· patent or highly polished leather pumps (most traditional)

black silk or fine fabric hose, over-the-calf length

What about a dark cognac color? Black shoes and navy  suits is a no-no, IMO

I think it depends on how bright the navy is, but I prefer brown with navy suits. Just make sure that it’s a more formal style of shoe as opposed to a loafer.

atelle01:  Personally I prefer brown with navy. It does look more nautical, looks more stylish, and I really don’t like the look of black with navy. And you like brown with navy! I really wouldn’t worry to much about what your family thinks. What does your fiance think? Really the only two opinions that matter are yours and his 🙂

And a dark congac leather definitely would look plenty formal. And I don’t see how dark brown shoes will clash with the BM’s silver dresses. And lastly, let’s be honest, there aren’t going to be a whole lot of photos where anyone is comparing how the bridesmaids’ dresses go with the groomsmen’s shoes 😉
