My dad and I share a love for Bruce Springsteen. I used to dance around the living room to Springsteen when I was little, and all my life we have bonded over his music. Because of this, I find it appropriate for our Father/Daughter dance song to be by him.
The issue is, most of Springsteen’s songs tend to be about romantic love, growing up, Americana, and sometimes darker subjects. Those do not exactly scream “loving father/daughter dance”.
I know that “When You Need Me” is sometimes played as a Father/Daughter dance, but that song bears no significance to us. My dad and I prefer older Springsteen (i.e. “Greetings from Asbury Park” up to “The River”). As of now, I am considering “Growing Up”.
Do any Springsteen fans have any suggestions? It doesn’t have to be a traditional, slow, sentimental song. We don’t mind dancing 🙂

I don’t really have any suggestions for you (although When you Need Me is a beautiful song), but I love that you’re considering Bruce for your dather/daughter dance! I finally saw him this past summer and I just sobbed the entire time haha.
My and my fiance are considering Jersey Girl for our first dance- even if we don’t use it for our first dance, it will be played for sure and we will probably use Thunder Road or Born to Run as our last song of the night to get everyone up and jumping around together!
Don’t worry too too much about the lyrics- if it’s not creepy/sexual, its OK if they don’t really make sense. My dad and I are using Drops of Jupiter by Train because its what we used to belt out in the car together, so choose your favorite and rock out!
