This is odd, but in the last week I have noticed my legs are covered in brusies, one on my calf is 5cm long and over a cm wide (yes we measured haha), and I have about 5 ‘regular’ bruises dotted around the shin. I have a few on my other shin too.
Can this be from exercise?? I definitely haven’t fallen over / knocked my leg. I use the treadmill & or elliptical about 5/6 times a week for about 20-25 mins a time. It has become my routine for the past 4 months or so but this is the first I’ve noticed so many bruises!
Thank goodness its winter here.. but shorts in the gym are making me conscious!!

miss-sydneysider: You might want to get checked out by a doctor. Legs covered in bruises that you can’t explain could mean something serious.

molokoa: I’ve called to make an appointment, just wondered if anyone had experienced this. I googled it, but didn’t find to much really.

miss-sydneysider: Your bruises could be caused by running.

A sudden increase in the number or size of bruises is a reason for medical evaluation.

I notice a lot of bruising when I switch bikes. I think most are just from slight changes in movement.
But the first time – switching from a road bike to a fat bike, I was beat up. I did go to my doctor, everything was fine. But he said any sudden bruising that bad, come get checked out. He’d rather see nothing than wait until something is far worse.

Shot in the dark, but are you on birth control? Ortho Tri Cyclin covered my body in enormous bruises. You’re likely not as severe as I was (as I could have passed for a domestic abuse victim) and they popped up on my legs first.

I hope it’s nothing serious. I’d guess it’s related to your workout routine, but your doctor can likely tell you for sure.
