I have always dreamed of having my ceremony around 10 am and a brunch reception to follow. Between the two, we will have a “Coffee hour” with brunch appetizers. My Fiance and I will only be 20 and we don’t drink, so I wasn’t planning on having alcohol either. Because it’s so early, we would also only have the first dance. Does this sound horrible? The ceremony will be at an outdoor chapel at a beautiful country club and the reception will be inside at the same country club. I’m just worried it won’t be that fun for out guests, but it’s our style, laid back and not too crazy!

It sounds lovely. I’d add in mimosas, but that’s just me 🙂
I love brunch!

Sounds like a lovely time. You decide what you want to include and what you don’t. If someone doesn’t like your choices, they can stay home or do what they want when it is their turn. But since you are underage, you can’t purchase alcohol to begin with for anyone else to drink so it’s a non-issue. Not to mention, it won’t be missed that early in the day anyway. Therefore no need to serve mimosas, etc. especially since you can’t partake in them. Just have a wide variety of nonalcoholic beverages including espresso, cocoa, juices, etc and you’ll be good to go.

I love love love this idea! A think a late morning ceremony, coffee hour and brunch would be a wonderful time. If this is what works for you two, your family and friends will understand and I cannot imagine anyone fussing about it. I am seriously wishing this is how we would have went also! I think it’s a wonderful idea! Keep me posted on the details!

I love the idea of a brunch reception! Done right, it could be very classy and unique. We considered one, but it was a little hard to work logistically around out-of-towner’s schedule. Also, we weren’t sure what to do about music and dancing at that hour of the day. If you decide to serve alcohol, mimosas, bellinis, bloody marys, maybe white wine and beer and champagne toast are all fine choices. Otherwise, just do what’s right for you; your guests will be fine.

I love it! My love of a breakfast food/brunch wedding is well documented here. I am still thinking of doing this. If it fits your style, go for it!
