My Fiance and I have decided on a brunch wedding reception, because our wedding is going to be on a Sunday and we think it’ll be easier on our guests for travel reasons. I’ve also heard that it’s more cost-effective, which is always a plus!
Has anyone else had a brunch reception? Any ideas for it?

We did a Sunday brunch reception. What kind of ideas are you looking for?

Well, I know that brunch weddings traditionally don’t have quite as much dancing, if any, because people don’t always feel like dancing at 11 AM. So what sort of things did you do to keep guests entertained at your wedding? Was it just a lot of mingling? Did you have a DJ/band or did you just forgoe the dancing all together?
I also don’t know what time would be a good time to start. I was thinking like a 9:30 or 10:00 ceremony then a 10:30 or 11:00 reception, but is that too early? What time did yours start?

Are you planning on a religious officiant? If so, getting one prior to noon on a Sunday might be really tough.
My reception was at 2:30 and we had a dj, but barely anyone danced.

We’re having a friend officiate, so that won’t be a problem. I’ve heard from people that have attended morning weddings that they can be boring, and I am kind of concerned about that.
