I’m trying to decide what to use for our send-off.
I was thinking that ribbon wands are a cute idea. They’re a great price, look adorable, give you something to take home, and are not overdone.
But when I mentioned it, a few people told me that they think the idea of bubbles is better, because they look better in photographs.
What does everyone think?
Ribbon Wands…..

Or Bubbles….

I’ve also had a few people mention that I could mix the ideas. But I’m not sure if that would work either. First, the ribbons might pop the bubbles. Second, don’t you think the pictures would look inconsistent? Others mentioned giving the wands to the children only (since we teach Sunday School and all of the children we teach will be there.)
What do you think?

I voted Ribbon Wands because that’s what I’m doing ๐

I think maybe you could do a mix. If you are having kids at the ceremony they are probably going to like spinning around with the ribbon wands so that could provide some cute photos. Then adults can do bubbles so you can get a bunch in the photos.

I voted bubbles because they are what I’m doing. I never even considered ribbon wands because… I think theyre dumb. If you love them then thats awesome and totally go for it, but I have always hated ribbon dancers and it reminds me of them.

I love bubbles, but I have been warned that depending on your dress material and the type of bubbles you can actually stain your dress ๐
I voted ribbon wands for this reason ๐ (Plus they are cute!)

bubbles are great and lots of fun, but I’ve also heard about them ruining dress material! That would be heartbreaking! Ribbon wands all the way!

I personally LOVE ribbon wands, but at my cousin’s wedding a lot of the guests vocally shared that they thought it was a dumb idea. I guess some grown folks think it’s undignified or silly to wave them around? They’re your pictures though, and I bet they’d go over a little better if you had a sign posted with instructions, or someone passing out the wands encouraging them to wave them for pictures. Bubbles are nice too and probably a lot cheaper and easier.

@pinkpaperbride: LOL kinda funny, but blowing bubbles isn’t all that “adult” either ๐

Before I clicked on the post, I would have said bubbles but now looking at the pictures, I do like the ribbons. I do like the white ribbons instead of the colored ribbon.

This is one of my favorite ribbon pics, (my “inspiration” I guess)

I will never outgrow the magic of bubbles! I would do bubbles. I just feel like they’re more fun for the guests to play with.

If you do bubbles make you sure buy quality ones. The last wedding I was at had bubbles and they were those wedding favor ones you buy pretty cheap. Almost none of them even produced bubbles so the effect was lost for the pictures.
I think I like the wands though. You know they will be seen in a picture!

Mmmm…Ribbon Wands!
Have you ever stood next to the person who can not seem to properly “blow” (OOPSIES let me rephrase that!) “blow bubbles”!?! I dont think you or or guests want to risk being misted by Uncle Jim’s or Cousin Sid’s after wedding dinner breath! lol

Thanks guys for the advice. Keep it coming. I’m still debating.
But yes, I would absolutely HATE to see my material ruined from bubbles ๐
I have heard some people voice their opinions that ribbon wands are “dumb” but maybe if I can make a sign explaining them and have someone handing them out, it would be alright.
I’m still contemplating! Thanks for all of the advice!
