My fiancé and I are planning to go to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and I think after that I might be ready to ttc.

I knew that I wanted to own our house, and that my husband would be established in his career, and that we would be married for a year before we would try to conceive

My bucket list included finishing my degree and also completing a number of home renovation projects.  Still working on both and the degree definitely won’t be finished in time for baby at this point. I thought I had a solid plan. My brother-in-law reminded me of a Woody Allen quote, “If you want to make God laugh tell him your plan”.  Yup, that’s where I am at and my bucket list was not extensive.

We don’t have one, other than trying to pay off some debts and get in a better place financially. I already have a house (bought it before Boyfriend or Best Friend and I ever met), which really would’ve been the only thing. My CFBC best friend and her Fiance have offered to take our future kids for a week or two every year once they’re old enough so that we can go on vacation. They love kids but don’t want any of their own, so they’ll get to play at being parents for a week or so and we’ll get a break.

sarathemermaid :  I was actually thinking about this while I was making myself a dry manhattan. So the first thing I want to do is finish this cocktail lol. But in all seriousness, our TTC plans have been pushed back due to a family wedding in a Zika area. This initially really made me sad but ultimately I am taking it as an opportunity to get a slice of life (the childless kind) before embarking full steam into motherhood. I have traveled, I have achieved career goals, buying a home is not a priority for us due to the white hot real estate market. I think that we’re ready for a child but given the circumstances I am dedicating this time to being brazenly selfish and enjoying life.

Mine was really short: 1) get married, and 2) figure out my health issues so we could have a healthy pregnancy. We got 1.5 of them completed. I’m definitely glad to have our little guy here (3 weeks PP now), but I have to say I probably would have been more serious about getting my health up to snuff if I had known all the complications it would cause. I think a part of me wanted to travel more as well, but we were just SO ready to be parents and decided that we’ll  just travel with him once he gets a bit bigger.

Our bucket list is as follows:

1) Move abroad

2) get my MBA

3) travel as much as possible – minimum of 10 countries

4) find a job that I am happy in

We are planning to start TTCing in Summer 2019 so 1.5 years. 1-3 is in the works. We’re moving to the Netherlands for my MBA and will travel as much as physically possible.

We haven’t done enough travel yet. I still haven’t seen Paris or England and I want to go so so badly. However we are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon from New Zealand and I’m so excited about it.

we are now in our early 30s and we kind of have to have kids after our wedding next month. It’s bittersweet.

we will have to make sure our kids are fine to travel with us. Our kids can fit into our lives ❤️.

My big 3 were degree (got 5 years ago) married (last year) and plenty of travel (ticked off the last major one on honeymoon). Darling Husband wanted to be settled in a secure job and have a mortgage. Both of which have now been done. Darling Husband ideally wants to have ALL renovations done (All cosmetic things) before ttc due to less available money once kids appear, but baby fever has crept in somewhat for me! Been slowly creeping into the NTNP bracket the last couple of cycles.

Baby fever is so hard. Originally Darling Husband and I agreed that summer of 2019 we will try. We will be married almost 2 years, I’ll be 26 (he’ll be 36). In 2018 we have planned 1 trip to Jamaica and 3 trips to Mexico. I just bought my “mom car” (3 row SUV). We’re in the process of buying a 3rd house. I have all of these renovation ideas that we will need to complete before moving in and TTC. And maybe we’ll be able to fit in one more trip, but we’ll see!
