I just got engaged last week 🙂 and already we are researching venues…
I’m starting to get a little bit stressed out as my Fiance and I have a loose budget of around $10,000 for getting married in the Mayan… we haven’t officially sat down and decided our final budget but it’s going to be close to that.. which I thought would be plenty for an off resort wedding. Now with more research, I’m not sure that is going to be enough! When all is said and done, my guess is we will have 40-60 people attending…
Any advice or help would me MUCHO APPRECIATED :

If you are staying at an all inclusive resort, you shoudl see if the resort would let book out a portion of the restraunt to save on caterer cost. I know someone that did this,a nd it worked out fantastic. But just keep things simple, you have the beauty of the beach an dyou dont need to overwhelm yourself with over decor and flowers.
And realistcally, do you think 40-60 will actually make it?

@Nikkimcq: There is an option for that at our resort, however the Fiance wants to have a sit down dinner rather than have it be an a la carte dinner, so that’s where the price goes up.
Yes, we both have large families, so 40-60 is on the bottom spectrum of people coming LOL. I’m sure if I invited the whole 220 I am inviting to the AHR, that 100 would show up 🙂
I think I found a beach club though that is amazing and within, maybe a little more than our price range. Fingers crossed the Fiance likes it!

@lilymarie23: Sounds like my family! lol
Well good luck! I would definately look at other resorts and restraunts. Use the “well ** resort offered me this deal” tantic, sometimes that works!
