- Wedding: September 2011
So my problem is I was going to use my moms old crinoline, and she was going to bring it to my alterations apointment. (a friend of ours who does wedding alterations, so laid back) but when she went to get it she couldnt find it anywhere in their moving chaos. The stores around here dont exactly cater to little people (I am 4′ 7″) and my appointment is TOMORROW! I cant figure out where to look because I just found out a few minutes ago. So I may have to wait on hemming and only look at taking it in this time. At lest it only needs to be serged because its serged on the original hem, and I have 6 months. If I have to wait, do any of you know off an online place who sells pretty cheap crinoline or petty coats?
My other issue is I was told by DB that they will do a free pressing, even after mentioning I was taking it somewhere else to be altered, but now that I talk to the actual alterations lady she is saying that they wont iif someone else has sewed on it. In my mind I thought you get that done a few weeks before so it is perfect, but she was saying I should bring it in before the actual alterations, even though my wedding is in September. I called around and one place will do it for 35, but there arent any reviews online for them, or any cleaners around here and others charge between that and 185. What would you do? Press now, and wait to see if it will need it later; or just go through alterations and get it pressed closer to the wedding??
I am confused so sorry if I babbled. Thank you!
