Right before Christmas last year I stumbled upon a clearance sale at an major chains outlet store.  They had beautiful bridesmaid gowns – in my colors!! – that were reg. $189.99, then drastically reduced from there, and then 75% off the already reduced price.  I don’t give a hoot that they are last seasons style, when you walk out of a store with two beautiful bridesmaid gowns for a grand total of $13.47, you giggle like a school girl all the way home ๐Ÿ˜€

I got 240 Save-The-Date Cards from Ollie’s for a grand total of $12.47. yay ๐Ÿ™‚ Will be getting my invites from ollie’s also, or from Ebay if I can’t find enough matching ones at ollie’s. I just don’t really care that much about the paper and would rather spend the money elsewhere.

My dress was also a bargain find. I went to a POB sample sale and came away with a lace ballgown (marked $6950) for $500! It’s going to need a lot of alterations, but even if I spend $1000 to alter it, it’s still a steal.

Same sample sale…got $350 shoes for $25. Score.

I’m planning to use wine bottles for vases to put 2-3 calla lilies in for centerpieces. My sisters and sisters’ neighbors are saving bottles for me for the next year.

this is it so far as I’m just barely getting started, but I’m sure there will be more to come. I loooove bargain hunting.

I LOVE this thread …bargain shopping is my heart ๐Ÿ™‚

My dress: Found on ebay for $50 including shipping, tiara and veil. It fit perfect and nothing has to be altered. Since I got such a good deal, I’m thinking of upgrading my veil for a mantilla veil. Still looking for a good deal.

-My DJ saved us $400 on uplighting by including it in our DJ package for free.

– Caterer – I was able to talk her into providing me with an ice sculpture for free and upgrade my linens so that the linens touched the floor. AND CAKE IS INCLUDED!

– Floral – I found a website called http://www.flowerwholesale.com/ . My flowers are ALL roses, they sell them for $0.38 a piece. I’m doing simple centerpieces and bouquet. I’m ordering close to 350 for $133

A sample viewing of my centerpieces with linen and candles

– Save the Dates, I made them and had them printed for free on vistaprint along with a free just married hat and tshirt. we also had a free banner made that will hang above our bar that says our names and date. I paid $16 in shipping for all that.

-Customized Aisle Runner – $5 – My cousin didn’t use hers, so she let us have it. We designed our monogram sent it to staples to be enlarged and we had the paint on hand.

-Ring Bearer Tux – My sons tux was going to be $111 for a rental. I found them on ebay for $24.99.

Bridesmaids Gifts – Personalized bags to match personality $50 total on 5 bags plus a duffel bag for me. http://www.wholesaleaccessorymarket.com/index-exec/

love this, i also hate paying retail for anything.  i can’t seem to wake up early enough for yard sales but i hit the thrift stores hard.  all of my wedding decor and stationary was diy and i spent total of around $350, this included favors.

some of the best deals, like my pretty tableclothes ($7 each), birdcage card holder ($15), and shepard hooks ($3 each) were found right here on Weddingbee, that classified section is tasty!  i made a placecard display out of an old frame collecting dust in a relative’s basement (free!).  the ceramic birds on my cake topper were $5.

my best ‘find’ was my wedding dress, $20 at a vintage store near my house.

I am excited to post on here!

I bought my 200 chargers off of CL for .50 cents a piece! It was such a steal! When we bought them, Fiance looked at them and was confused lol. One of his guy friends who just got married had to explain to him what the purpose of the charger was LOL.

My other bargains include napkins and napkin rings. I got a HUGE box of plain white napkin rings for 30 dollars! I think there is probably at least 250 in there. I figured I would put gold ribbon on them or spray paint them gold….I haven’t decided yet…..any suggestions? Another exciting find was my burgundy napkins. I love the design on them and they look so cute (IMO). Got them (and the napkin rings) off of Ebay. The napkins ended up costing .40 cents a piece (including shipping) for 150 of them. I didn’t want plain napkins…..so these were the perfect find for our burgundy and gold wedding :-D. The tablecloth in the pic is not the tablecloths were are going with…..we found burgundy ones from another bride on here for 8 dollars a piece. I put the burgundy tablecloth with the light gold organza overlay on the reception hall table, along with the chargers and napkins, to see how it will look. I loved it! I should have grabbed a picture of that :-(. Sorry for the poor quality of the pics. They are from FI’s cell phone :-/. The room wasn’t well lit either….sigh….oh well lol. Have a wonderful day bees!

Any advice on the napkin rings is appreciated! ๐Ÿ™‚
