Hi I live in San Francisco and it will cost us $92 pp. just for the actual food. It’s much higher if you are including labor cost. This a full servce five course vegan reception including a cocktail hour. The price includes a non-alcoholic signature drink (unlimited refils) but does not include alcohol. The reception is at the church’s parish hall and no hard is allowed so we will have wine with dinner and that’s it. We are playing a lot for the food and I am not going over budget on liquor.

campingbee : Hey do you mind telling me who your caterer is? I’m also in the Vancouver, BC area! Also did you just buy liquor from the liquor store or a wholesale distributor?

I’m in upstate NY and our catering cost was $32 a person. This includes tables, chairs/chair covers, all items in the place setting, ice water, coffee/tea/sugar/cream, bread/butter, and obviously the meal. It’s not a separate catering service – it’s the in-house cost of the mansion from which we’re renting the ballroom.
On top of that, unlimited beer/wine is $10 per person for the entire night. So for 150 people which is what we’re planning, we’ve got $4800 + $1500 = $6300.

we went with Austin Gourmet – they’re in Coquitlam but deliver for free within 35km I think. They’re not super fancy the way Lazy Gourmet is or some of those catering places, but for our relaxed wedding it was perfect!
For alcohol we just got it from the BCL because of their return policy. I think they may have given us like 5 or 10% discount per case we bought? Don’t quote me on that though 😛

We went with a mom and pop shop and it was $24 per person for a thanksgiving dinner type buffet. It included appetizers, ice cream and coffee along with it! Best deal I found and I am only 20 minutes outside of Boston. They had great reviews on FB and the food was fantastic. It included set up and tear down and linens 🙂

campingbee : Awesome, thank you that’s super helpful! We’re doing a farm wedding so I’m trying to find a cost-effective way of sourcing alcohol

chyangra : I know this is 2 months old soyiu probably already decided BUT… I’m a Chicago burb bee too. I got married at Brookfield zoo. Their wedding package includes ceremony site, 6 hrs open bar, 1 hr cocktail hour in exhibit, cake, 3 course meal, all linens and service personnel. You pay for this all through the entree price. I think the cheapest was chicken at like $75 pp

We are in Seattle. Here’s a break down of ours:
$53/person – includes 3 different types of apps, salad, bread, entree, juice, infused water, coffee, etc
$7/person – upgrade to plated
$11/person – tables, linens, chairs, all silverware.
$1550 – labor. Set up and entire break down. Costs are low cause we are going through a cooking school instead of a catering company. Other quotes were quoting me $6K-$8K just for labor.
Everything for 125 guests is $83.40/person. Just a little over $10K. However, this does not include alcohol which will be around $3-4K.
