I found my girls’ “bridesmaid” dresses at a local fashion boutique. I din’t need them to be super formal so a nice fashion dress worked out just fine. The dresses were about $40 each. The funny thing is that I found an identical chiffon dress on the David’s Bridal website going for $130.

Ann Taylor, the sale styles have extra 40% off from time to time. 100% silk chiffon and dupioni silk, very well made.

I think the main thing is to stay away from any shop to do with bridalware if you are on a budget. You can get beautiful dresses from just normal shops, at least they won’t be marked up 400% because they aren’t being sold specifically to the wedding market.

Also don’t forget to check department stores like Sears and JCPenneys. Macys and Dillards may get expensive though.

Have you checked Etsy? I have found someone to make our dresses for $89 a pop in custom sizes.

Re: those Target ones, they look cute online but I saw them on the clearance rack at our local as returned stock and they look so cheap in person.
