You should be able to call shops in the states and ask– they are usually hesitant to give you numbers over the phone, but if you explain that you’re out of the country, they should at least give you a ballpark number.

@Pam Lynn: My Paloma was $1800 but I got it during a trunk show so it was 10% off. My total came to just over $2000 after taxes and adding extra length. Totally worth it though. I loves her 🙂

I had a Paloma Blanca as a “finalist” in my dress search, but like PPs, she was off-the-rack final sale and was a bit cheaper — $1500, and something like $1900 brand new. Just a bit out of my budget. Beautiful gown, though!

Where do you live?  have you tried Marian Daniels?  Or Galatea?  Also there are a few shops in Escazu that sell name brand dresses like Pronovias.  I am unfamiliar with dress brands (I got mine from a local seamstress).  But I know there are stores that cater to the higer end type of dresses.  Just expect to pay out the nose… name brand dresses to buy in Costa Rica are super pricey and not budget at all.

I had my eye on a Paloma Blanca dress when I was dress searching and if I remember correctly it was about $2,500  Wasn’t incredibly expensive but with veil and alterations and bustle it all adds up quick!
