Due to budget restrictions, we can only do a meal of Tri-tip plus salad, potato, a roll, and a drink for everyone (60 people). It is a meal deal which comes with the place that we are having the reception.
Should I have extra sides? We really don’t have a lot of money for this wedding and we still have to pay for the liquor, regular drinks, and cake.
Plus, my fiance says we have to have extra food for later when the guests get hungry again from dancing and stuff. Is that true?

You’re going to have cake, right? I don’t think you need extra food for later on in the evening after/during dancing. At the wedding I was just at, the food was fairly simple, but still very delicious. There were steak tips, chicken parm, and 3 sides, plus salad and a roll. But once that got eaten, it was gone. Then later they set the cake out and I had some inbetween dancing. It seems like what you have will be fine, though I’m curious what tri-tip is. 😛

I think your meal sounds fine and the cake can fill them up later.

It sounds great! Honestly, if people were at home– that would be more than enough. If people came over for dinner & that’s what you served, they’d be happy with it. For some reason when we plan our weddings, the food never seems to be enough.
People will eat what is served to them! I wouldn’t add any more sides… they won’t go away hungry! 🙂
