I’d check out some local shops. I went and found some great deals, and scored my Maggie Sottero (who does have a few gowns in that range to start with) at half off since it had just been discontinued. A 1K+ dress for $500 made for one happy gal!

Mori Lee has some beautiful gowns and they are very reasonably priced. Also, I’ve seen some gorgeous Group USA dresses for great prices. Good luck!

Wtoo is a budget friendly brand by Watters.  Also, if you go to bestbridalprices.com they have a brick and mortar store and the online store, and they are legitiate retailers of many bridal brands.  There you can search for dresses based on budget so you can see a bunch of different brands in your budget.

I second mori lee! The dresses are gorgeous and very reasonable. I was shocked when my consultant told me the dress I loved was only about $500. There are a wide range of silouhuettes so it could be a good option if you fall in love with a pricier ball gown or mermaid dress. When I tried them on I felt like the dresses gave me the same overall look I was going for but at a price point that worked much better for me!

I triple mori lee!  I was also shocked when I tried on a dress and was told it was $650. Very nicely made dresses!

Allure, Casablanca, Mori Lee, Alfred Angelo, DaVinci, Impression, Moonlight, Eden, Aria, Impression… those are the ones I can think of.

I wouldn’t honestly say Maggie. Most/a lot of her dresses are at or over that $1k mark.

I tried on a davinci dress, and they seem to be really well made. There’s also PC Marys; they have a ton of gorgeous ballgowns. One of them was my runner up, but I was worried about being too busty for the top of it.

Jessica McClintock also has reasonable priced gowns but they’re more simple than other brands. I’m not sure if they are carried in Texas though.

BCBG has great sales on gowns and many of the lower priced gowns in their evening line actually photograph better in my opinion than many of the “bridal brands”. Nordstroms is having new bridal gowns as is White House/Black Market – try Limited Express and scour through all the sale racks at your local bridal shops – don’t be intimidated by a sales person trying to get you in a pricier gown – stick to your guns, there are tons of dresses at lots of pricepoints. It can be really daunting in the beginning just hang in there. 🙂

My dress is by Bonny, and I love it.  The bridal shop I got it at had it for $850, but I’ve seen it as low as $620 online.
