Hi! So much fun with another August bride that happen to be in the same city!

I might have a tip that can save you the entire costs for a wedding photographer! Contact Sheridan College and ask if they want to come and cover your wedding. Since they run photography courses, they are in need of couples for practise sessions. We spent half a day there last spring for our engagement photos and ended up with some that were great – all without spending one single cent!

It’s worth a try!

Hello!

I am a wedding photographer in the Halton Hills area. I just graduated Sheridan College last year and since then have gotten into the wedding photography industry. I went to school for this so I know what I’m doing and I have shot many weddings since I’ve graduated. Because of my newer status in the industry, this year I am offering really great rates beginning in and around $1000 depending on your needs.

You can check out my work here: http://www.juliaseilerphotography.com or http://www.facebook.com/juliaseilerphotography

I wish you the best in your wedding planning! πŸ™‚

@Baroness_Meg:  please check out my photographer. her rates are great and she even works with you for budget (reasonably, but she still works with you). She is mainly  a editorial photographer, but she has this great eye for beauty, she loves the etherial fantacy look….so if you like her work contact her (by email is best, not fb message).

I am good friends with the photographer mentioned above (Daniela). We went to college together for photography and she is a great photographer and person! πŸ™‚ You’d love to work with her if your into the more fantasy/dream-like, model-type images πŸ™‚

Hmm I think your budget is pretty reasonable – I booked in that range too. If you are going to go any lower you are probably going to find it with starter photographers who can do it because they want more experience and willing to get paid less for it. It can be hit and miss so just ask to see more of their work and make sure it’s not a school project (where they have help and lots of time to try different shots) but work that is a paid client and a real wedding. It’s a lot of pressure I think and there is no re-do if they miss the shot (you are not going to walk down that aisle again!)

My friend is a photographer (I don’t want them to work at my wedding, so didn’t book him) and he said it’s a misconception that the rates photographers charge are very high. If you subtract income taxes, gas, and liability insurance, it’s not that good. Unlike other workers who are employed at companies he has to pay for his own health care and he has no benefits for his family either. He said he also has to print his work, create sample albums, which costs money, and pay for website host and design.

Hope that helps you rational with your fiancee. πŸ™‚ But there’s a photographer to be found at every budget. Good luck.

I don’t know if you found a photog yet, but I just had an appointment with Emily from Images International. She was super nice and the prices seemed decent to me. http://www.imagesinternational.ca/

Im a recent bride and understand the frustrations and stresses that come along with wedding planning and staying on budget. I’m currently on mat leave and using this year to build my photography business. With that said, I’m offering packages as low as $1,400 with two dedicated photographers to look after your big day. Having done extensive research on photographers when I was planning my own wedding, this is a very competitive price since most packages I’ve seen start around this rate for only one photographer.

If you are interested please feel free to look at my site and Instagram for a sense of my work – http://www.karen-tran.com / https://www.instagram.com/karentranphotog/

Hope you all the best in your planning.

My budget for a wedding was very small, as we paid for everything by ourselves. Search for wedding photographer was a challenge, but we finally found KS Studios (https://www.facebook.com/ksstudiosphoto/) who offered us a custom package with an affordable price!
