Hi Bees, hope you can help a bride-to-be out!
I was going over the budget for our wedding and realized there’s some stuff that I have NO idea what’s average.
For example, flowers. I’m not super into them and we won’t be using very much–no bridesmaides, no groomsmen, no boutonierres, not even a bouquet. But we’ll want to use some for decorations.
How much was it to decorate your ceremony location? Or reception venue?
And speaking of which, how much was your reception venue when all was said and done? How much was the venue itself and how much did you pay for reception rentals?
And then there’s just decor in general–how much was it to decorate the venue (versus just decorating with flowers)?
I’m so overwhelemed already. 🙁

Start by telling us what your budget is, then we can help you figure out where money would be best allocated. Vendor costs vary GREATLY by where you live.

@mstellah: Oops! That would be useful wouldn’t it?? 😉 My budget for the overall wedding is 20k and I want to have it in SF. I’m having a hard time trying to figure out what to budget for those specific things.
I’ll post a break down of what I have so far for a party of 85 guests:
Attire & Accessories
Wedding Dress: $4000 (over estimation…trying to shoot for $3000
Flowers & Decorations
Ceremony Decorations: ???
Ceremony Flower Arrangements: ???
Reception Decorations: ???
Reception Flower Arrangements: ???
Reception Table Centerpies: ???
Ceremony Programs: $180
Invitations & Reply Cards: $150
Table Name and Escort/place Card: $60
Wedding Bands: $600
Wedding Photgraphy: $2200
Venue, Catering & Rentals
Ceremony Location: $700…maybe…still unsure we’re going to ahve a separate venue
Hotel Room for After Reception: $380
Reception Bar Service: $3000 (another overestimation, but we want an open bar and I hear they get as pricey as that)
Reception Food Service: $3200
Reception Location: ???
Reception Rentals: ???
Wedding Cake/desserts: $250
So what we end up having left over is $4400 left over for flowers and reception location/rentals. Ahhhhhhh I’m so confused. :/
