Our wedding was *just* over 10k and it was beautiful. We got lots of compliments on everything. We did a lot of it ourselves and that was where we saved a lot of money. I don’t feel like our wedding was necessarily “deprived” of anything because of budget constraints. Good luck!

Our wedding was about a week and a half ago (already! wow..)  here’s the rough estimates of what it cost us….

Ceremony/Reception site:  free (friend’s property)

Event Insurance: $300 (for 1mil. coverage)

Rentals (Tables, Linens, Portable Toilets, Chairs, and misc items): $1,200

Photography: $2500

Cater (Friend’s Boss so she cut us a deal): $1800

Wine and Non-Alcoholic Drinks and Ice: $300

Dress (including alterations): $750

Groom’s Suit Rental: $120

Hair & Makeup (Friendor): $70

Invitations, Programs, Seating Chart, Signage (all DIY, including printing at Staples): $300

Favors: $50

Decor: $300 (this is a extremely rough estimate….a lot of things were collected from yard sales and family and DIY projects)

Gifts for hosts, BMs, Parents, GMs, etc: $500

Overall cost came to around $8,500 so I’m sure there’s misc. items that I miscalculated on or forgot to include…..but thats the rough break out for ours….

I’m going to post mine so far, just so you can see it. We are having a small guest list, but just so you can see it! This doesn’t include my ring, his and stepsons suits, or our honeymoon which we will take next year.

Venue/Catering – $3100 – This includes a three course meal (entree choice of beef, chicken, fish) as well as liquor/beer/wine for 25 people and chivari chair rental. Plus our 2 hotel rooms for the wedding night. This is just an estimate based off 25 people, and I think we will be at 21. So I’m hoping this number is around $2600 when all is said and done.

Photography – $600 (craigslist special)

Flowers/Basic Decor plus deliver – $550

Cake – $80

Favors – $72

Marriage License/Officiant – $220

Dress/Alterations/Accessories – $480 (FMIL paid $280 for dress)

Gifts for Groom, Bridesmaids, Moms, etc – $600

Hair & Make-up $120 (My mom is paying)

Misc. Decor and Other random things – $250

His Ring – $200 (still undecided on taking up the promotion for the semi-free band posted a few days ago)

Oh, and I am not including a few things in the wedding budget, because I’ll use them before/after.  Makeup – about $200 (yes, I needed a lot, wear mostly drug store eye shadow/mascara, bought primer, setting spray, and a few better eye shadows), my shoes $55, and hair clips $30.

Those of you who didn’t note, I’d love to hear how many guests you’re having or had.  A $10,000 wedding for 40 people, is very different from a $10,000 for 250.  🙂
