oh also: some bees have 10k white gold jewelry and really love it. the advantage is that it’s harder, whiter and costs less than 14k.

also, don’t forget about the asha.

if you plan on upgrading in a couple of years, then you could always consider a good quality diamond simulant.

I have a 2 mm sapphire eternity band from Blue Nile. It was $500-something, but we got $100 off with a Living Social coupon. Woo! Definitely cheaper than anything with diamonds in it. Maybe you can find an alternative stone semi-eternity like the PP suggested.

You can get something similar from Amazon or Overstock for under $100 with free shipping. Since you plan on replacing it eventually I would either go for the cheapest gold option or try Berricle for a temporary band.  Those are my options since we plan to upgrade later on for an anniversary.

Hi,

This is my first post!

I just wanted to comment on a pp suggestion to look at 10K rings.  I would be careful about mixing the karat weight rings (ie. 18k e ring with 10k band).  Because of their different densities, they will wear on each other.  You could end up doing damage to your dream e ring by pairing it with the 10k ring (when they rub against each other).

Aside: the reason a 10k ring doesn’t seem to turn colour as easily is because there is less gold in the alloy created to make the white gold.
