I’m trying to plan a budget wedding for about 60 people for 7K in NYC or Brooklyn in September. I’m open to having the wedding/reception at a cute restaurant but I would like to have some dancing as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙂
Thanks so much!

@blee: I had a wedding in NYC for 11K back in 2011. I wrote a long post on it that you can look up which might help you some. 7K is probably doable, but it might be tricky if you were hoping to have an evening reception unless perhaps a Sunday or weeknight. You would probably have better luck if you find a restaurant with space for dancing and perhaps have it in the late afternoon. The prices in this area were rather mind-boggling at times, but if you keep searching you can probably pull it off! You might get some good advice if you post this in the NYC board also. Good luck!

Search the boards there have been alot of places recommended. Thalassa is a nice Greek restaurant near Chelsea that has a nice upstairs loft area, dumbo loft in Brooklyn they have a large and small space where you can control the price by bringing in your own caterer and alcohol.

@blee: I would recommend Deity located on Atlantic Avenue in the Boerum Hill section of Brooklyn. Check them out at http://www.deitynyc.com. They work within your budget especially on Fridays and Sundays where they would not usually be booked. I am having mine there on October 11th. It was love at first sight.
