Do you have any family who own a farm? My friend just got married and she used her family farm and had her interior decorator aunt decorate their barn with chandeliers (that’s where the reception was). It was gorgeous!

A restaurant w an outdoor seating area.  You won’t pay the cost of rentals if you go that way.

Oh wow, that’s a ton of people for a small budget. Do you know what type of reception you’re having? I’m not sure if there’s one in your area, but my friend was looking at an old theater that charges $200 for renting it for one evening.

Have you looked into parks? They are usually very cheap. My friend got married at one for free and had her reception at the pavilion. They paid 50 bucks for both and it was beautiful. Only had about 80 guests though.

@Whoopsie Daisy: would love to!! πŸ™‚  i actually meant Lancaster, PA..sorry….for the entire weekend, Friday morning through Sunday afternoon, the owner quoted us 850 not including a 200 deposit, which we’d get back at the end of the weekend… we’re looking at about 100 guests, renting only tables and chairs….family catering (bbq style cook-out)…and a LOT of DIY projects πŸ™‚  one of my BMs is a graphic designer so she’s helping with invites….and i’ve been scoping out goodwills for dresses…flea market doesnt sound gross at all to me!!

this is my inspiration wedding: http://www.younghouselove.com/wedding-album/

Well, we’re having it at some cabins and the guest list is currently sitting at 195.  With the same budget as you. It’s currently at 3500, though we’re hoping for less!

How much DIY do you want to do?  ‘Cause I’m doing A LOT!!

For venues, check out cabins, like vacation cabins, local state parks, lakes, etc.

Feel free to PM me, if you need more help!

@Whoopsie Daisy: Oooh, I hope you can find a drive in, that would be cool with your dress! Another perk of it would be that you have a ton more flexibility with catering.
