We had menus at all the place settings. I hate not knowing what’s on the buffet ahead of time, because I end up loading my plate at the beginning and miss better stuff at the end!

I agree with PP. I usually wander around and look at all the food before I fill my plate. Since most guests can’t do that at the reception, we will do one menu per setting.

Venue labelled the food.  I was trying to cut down on excess “stuff” and menus were one of the first things to go!

dearjohnbride :  I am not having a buffet since they cost much more than plated in my area. The buffet weddings I have attended all just had one huge menu board in the beginning of the buffet table so guests were  able to see the list right before grabbing a plate. The boards were either made of blackboard/chalk or picture frame/printed menu.

We did one giant chalk board menu and hung it near the entrance to the buffet line. Our caterers also labeled the food and were there serving and answering any food questions for guests. All seemed to work great!

We are having one menu per place seating. The caterer will be labelling the mid night buffet.
