Buffet! I am a very picky eater. I love buffets where dishes and ingredients are identified for me. As someone with allergies I hate plated. The server never knows if the dish is safe or not for me to eat and by the time he checks and brings me the answer everyone else is done eating. I also usually only able to eat one item on my plate. At a buffet, even if the options are limited I can usually fill up on salad.

Honestly, if people got the wrong food, then the hosts probably didn’t take appropriate steps to prevent that. I indicated dinenr choices on every escort card and gave the caterer a list by guest and by table of everyone’s food choice. No one got the wrong item.

I really prefer plated because I think it is easier and no one has been fishing around in my food. However, it depends on how picky your guests are. If there are people who are only going to want a side and a lot of it, go with buffet.
