HeyJude72:  i threw an Octopus’s Garden themed baby shower for a friend and made her an octopus cake.  Her nursery was under the sea and they always played that song for her little boy.  Too cute!

Darling Husband has suggested buying furniture soon or putting some on layaway (his parents want to buy us a crib and don’t even know we’re TTC, but are hoping we are haha). We’re probably going to clean out the room soon as well. We painted it yellow when we bought the house because we knew it would be used for a nursery. We may go look at some things next month when we go shopping for a diaper party, hopefully I’ll be preggo by then, but we will see! I’m glad I’m not the only one!

I’m so glad I’m not alone in doing this! We got married in May and plan on TTC in December. Prior to the wedding, the spare bedroom that we knew would become the nursery was where we stored all the wedding stuff, so post-wedding we cleared everything out and since it was pretty much empty at that point we decided to tackle the awful bright orange color that they previously were, deciding on a mint green. Since then his mom gifted us a (used) crib, I’ve picked up a few cute baby things that I’ve stumbled upon… I’d be ready to start TTC today, but my husband wants to hit that 6 moths of marriage mark before we start is sticking to his guns on that start date. He totally supports buying baby stuff now though, so this is a happy medium for the next thre months of waiting!

It seems like this could majorly backfire if you have trouble conceiving or, god forbid, experience a loss. The constant reminder of a baby that doesn’t yet exist would be too much of a mindfuck for me. I can get on board with painting a nursery with a baby in mind especially of you’re painting it anyway but furnishing and decorating it is not something that I would personally do before even creating the life.

We plan to begin TTC in December but the waiting is killing me. We plan to cloth diaper so I have bided my time with purchasing when I see a good deal. Or something I can’t live without. Haha. As for nursery, I did clear everything out a few weeks ago and cleaned up in the room. It felt like I was accomplishing something towards baby making. I have also made a list of the things I need to get done before we start, like *finally* putting together the wedding album. But it is still all so tedious. I think the worst part for me is my unreasonable fear of infertility. I just want to hurry up and get started and get pregnant so I know I can :-/
