Check out grocery stores in your area, many of the chains with floral sections will be able to order for you. Also I think costco does it!

There was a wholesale flower market in a city within an easy drive of our venue. We got all of our cut flowers and orchid centerpieces through them. They were absolutely gorgeous and not expensive at all. I’d look for some flower markets in the area to see about wholesale purchase/pricing.

I’ve had good luck with flowers from Whole Foods for small to mid-size events. You’ll do better selecting from what is freshest vs having your heart set on specific flower types.

Whole Foods, Costco, or your local floral mart (you have to go at the crack of dawn here to get the good stuff) are all great options. Peonies are one of the most expensive flowers you can buy and have a very short season (now in the Northern Hemisphere).

If you’re in the US and have a Trader Joe’s nearby, I highly recommend going in and talking to them. The availability of peonies will be highly dependent on season, but if you are willing to be more flexible they can order you boxes of other specific types flowers and greens to choose from. There is no commitment to buy all of them and what you don’t purchase they just sell.

We got all of these plus a bunch of small potted roses for around $200. It was more than enough for like 14 tables, aisle decorations, mantlepiece decorations, and the cake.
