I am a little bummed, I know I don’t have a huge wedding guest list and whatnot, we have 65 people for now and final counts probably be around 65-70. Ironically, I have a HUGE family from both my parents side but they all live outside the country and won’t be able to make it to the wedding, except one aunt/uncle and then my parents/siblings. The thing is, I am finally realizing it’s OK to have a small wedding and it’ll be fun no matter what.
But, here’s the thing, my bridesmaids are throwing me a bridal shower this coming Saturday, and while I am SO excited and very happy – I am also a little bummed that it’s probably only going to be 10-15 people at my shower 🙁 … I just moved to this area about 1 1/2 yr ago and that doesn’t help either – I barely know anyone and the friends that I do make here, some of them couldn’t even make it or haven’t RSVP yet 🙁 …
I know I’m whinning at this point, but I do wish I have a larger party, it seems to be more fun that way. I guess, I am just looking for reassurance that a small intimate bridal shower can also be fun?
How many people do/did you have at your bridal shower?

I think I had about 15-20 maybe? I was a little bummed too but so many of our guests were from out of town that they decided to come up for the wedding instead.

I’m not even having a shower. All our guests are way too spread out. Anywhere I’d have a shower would result in a guest list of 6-10 people.
We are having a “luncheon” for 6 people or so in June. But even my bridesmaids are spread out all over the place so, no shower for me.

aw..don’t be sad about that! i’m not even going to have one. my friends are traveling from different states so it’s hard to get everyone together for a shower. we might get together for a small party the night before the rehearsal dinner but that’s about it!

Don’t be sad…10-15 isn’t bad at all!
They say the average bridal shower is about 10-20 people. I think I had 16 or 17 that showed up to mine and I thought it was a great size. We had a blast!

I had about 30 at my baby shower. It was way overwhelming.
I think your list sounds nice because you’ll get to actually talk to each guest.

The last bridal shower I went to had 8 people including the bride. But you know what, it was pretty awesome. We all went to the MOH’s house and had a really nice brunch. We didn’t play any games but we hung out and talked and opened some gifts. In all honesty, it was one of the better showers I’ve ever been too since it was so intimate. I think yours will be great if you’re with the people you love. That’s all you need.
