So I just got around to looking at booking my hair and make up stylist/artist and to do so I need to find out how many of my “party” will also be getting done up. I have a very small party, 1 Maid/Matron of Honor and 1 Bridesmaid or Best Man but a LOT of family I thought might be into it. My mom, my gram, Future Mother-In-Law, Future Sister-In-Law x2 and my aunt.
I sent out an email yesterday to all my important ladies and so far ONLY my aunt is intereseted!! I am totally bummed. My Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man are going to do their own and so are my mom and gram.
I am not upset that they are doing their own, I guess I just pictured ALL of us getting glammed up together. Ya know all the lovely pics of brides and their ladies on the day of getting curled and made up….. but now it’s seriously only going to be me. I am slightly (ok A LOT) bummed. I know, I know some of you will say to pay for it for them, but that is not in my budget and my Maid/Matron of Honor has been made up before for other weddings and did not like the results.
I almost feel like no one is excited about my wedding…. but I know that isn’t true…. Why am I so bummed??????

They can still come by and hang out with you while you’re having yours done.
A lot of times we picture things in our heads that just don’t come to fruition. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get pics of all of you together.
I prefer to do my own hair and makeup but I’d be thrilled if the bride asked me to come and see her while she’s getting hers done.

I agree that you should have them come along for the fun 🙂
I actually have the opposite problem- I’m doing mine myself & I thought we’d all hang out together at the cottage & get ready…but all my BMs want to go have theirs done at a salon! So it’ll just be me & my Maid/Matron of Honor getting ready at the cottage. It actually slightly annoys me because I paid for the cottage so we could all hang out together in the morning and have mimosas & stuff, but I’ve gotten over it. I thought I was doing everyone a favor by not pressuring them to spent money- you just can’t win!

I actually booked mine in a town a little ways away specifically so that my Maid/Matron of Honor and I could have some time with just the two of us. My other Bridesmaid or Best Man are local or family, so I see them all the time. My Maid/Matron of Honor is flying in and with all the busyness I knew we wouldn’t get a ton of time together unless I planned for it – so we are staying in a hotel near the salon the night before and getting hair/makeup done the next morning together!
