- Wedding: June 2012
Well, I’m back with more choices, because now I am really stuck.
I’m getting frustrated because I thought I might have decided on a Sottero and Midgley previously. Now I keep finding others completely different that I kind of like better but I’m worried that they will get destroyed (getting married on a beach, etc.). That, and I don’t like tulle (actually swore I wouldn’t have a gown in it) until I found this one.
Some notes: I’m 5’2″, wearing flats, on a beach in Mexico in June. I had originally wanted to add accents to a dress with orange flowers but I may scrap the idea.
This is the first one, Sophia Tolli’s Thalia. It’s a lot more busy than I originally wanted, and it’s tulle. But it looks very “whimsical” and has a really neat 3-D effect (crystals on top of the tulle and underneath the tulle), which I do like. The dress is a bit too big and I’m not clipped in. It also has some crystal appliques on the bottom of the dress which you can’t see (I’m too short).
Sorry about the out-of-focus.
Next one is an unknown. I didn’t write down the name because I wasn’t sure about it at the time (it would need modification; I don’t like my breast looking like it’s on fire). It’s also a shade big but not overly so. I’m also standing on a stool because the consultant found the bubbling at the bottom distracting when I was on the floor.
I still like the Clarice from Sottero and Midgley, mostly because I can modify it with the flower accents I want at the knots, and it would need no alterations other than hemming. I’m clipped in a bit strangely; when it fits properly there are no rolls in front at the hip.
Last is the Maggie Sottero Zabrina. I like the shape it gives me but I think the flower accent is too large. This particular dress is also a size 16 and I’m an 8, so the top is too big.
Thanks for your help ladies… I hope this will point me into a better direction or help get me into a better frame of mind, because I’m getting frustrated. I’m dress shopping alone as we’re eloping, so your opinions are all that I get!
