I just finished my 6′ x 6′ pocketfold invites that have a bow closure. Although they are large, they do fit in the envelope..but I’m concerned that I can very much feel the bump of the bow through the envelope. Has anyone had any trouble with USPS processing bumpy envelopes?

I had a bump in my envelope from the wax seal from the inner envelope. No trouble processing from USPS.

I also had pocketfold with a bow, and a bump, no problems at all.

We got charged extra for the bow bump because the post office said it would get caught up in the machine. I ended up changing the rest of the invites and made stickers to hold the ribbon together instead of using the bow and the postage ended being less.

The best way to find out is to take one to the post office and ask. Also, it’s a good idea to mail one to yourself first – bumps in the envelope can cause wrinkling or tearing of the envelope in the machines. After you see what the invitation looks like when it arrives, you might want to make changes (or not – maybe it will be just fine!)
