This is my first post… sorry if I am posting incorrectly! 🙁
Anyway, I am getting married next August and am going through the ‘colors’ and ‘flowers’ and ‘decorations’ dilema! I love Lace, Burlap and Pearls!!!
Is it too much to have all three??? My bridesmaids will ideally be wearing a navy blue tea-lenth sweatheart strapless dress. and my dress will ideally be lace!!
Also, what flowers would work with my crazy idea? haha
I am getting married at Wayfarers in Palos Verdes, CA. It is a beaiutiful glass church over the ocean. With that being said they do not allow you to decorate the church, it is natually decorated…
My reception is down the street at the aquarium in the outdoor courtyard (though we do have access to whole aquarium all night)… This is where my decorating dilema comes into place.
Thank you all so much!

Do what ever makes you happy!

I think your idea totally works! Rustic elegance ties in really well with using both lace and burlap. My dress has a lot of lace, and our table runners are burlap (reception is in a barn). I’m leaning towards gold right now for an elegant touch, but I can definitely see pearls making this look elegant as well.
It would help to see what the courtyard looks like, but I don’t think just because it’s at an aquarium you suddenly have to change to ocean colors or something!

@bam082314: Your venue is stunning! I would just decorate with candles like in the link photo…..beautiful!
Here are a few flower ideas

Not at all! I didn’t think to do pearls, thats a great idea! FI can get TONS of burlap at his job and my mom collected about 40 lace doilies over the years. I think the combo (and pearls in your theme) is absolutely beautiful!

That is exactly what my wedding will be! Rustic, vintage, shabby chic, lace, burlap, pearls, chandeliers, so many pretty things!!! Here is a picture of lace/burlap mason jars and soap favors I put together.
