I have gone to many many bra shops over the past few weeks trying to find an undergarmet for my dress. It’s strapless but doesnt have a low back or anything.
I thought this would be an easy task, but it’s proving to be very difficult.
I am a 38D or C depending on the bra, but need a lot of lift. These stores keep putting me in bustiers that do absolutely nothing for me. I feel like I may as well not even be wearing a bra. My usual everyday bra is a push up and I’m looking for something with that same effect. Everything I’ve tried on seems to do one of 3 undesireable things…
A: Pull the girls down
B: Minimize them
C: Just kind of give them a cup to sit in without providing any sort of lift or otherwise flattering effect.
This is so frustrating. I keep being told “this is the best you’re going to get” by women trying to sell me bras, but refuse to accept that.
Can anyone recommend either a strapless bra or bustier with some sort of push up effect or great support?

have you thought about an underbust one? If you get a good one that is boned it should support and lift. I was going to wear one under my dress but my wedding day was so unbelievably hot that I skipped it in order to be more comfortable (I had a corset back so I just tied it tighter so I could have less fabric making me hot).

Good luck. I tried and tried and never found anything that worked. I am a 36DDD. I ended up with a bra that did nothing but make me look bustier and it made me very sad on my wedding day.

OH MY GOSH I FOUND THE BEST THING.
I am a 40D or 38Dear Daughter depending. And my girls are HEAVY. I really wanted something to lift me as well, and I tried so hard to find a bra…I looked at strapless, corset/bustier, sticky, you name it. And then I found a miracle!!!
They are called “Bring It Up” and you can buy them on amazon. It’s hard to explain…but it’s basically breast lifting tape. I wore them to my first two fittings, which were earlier in the summer, and they lasted all day, even through the sweating. I forgot to wear them to my last fitting and I could tell a huge difference….my boobs really weighed down the front of my dress and the straps were digging into me.
If your dress is thin or shear in the front, you may need pasties or something in addition. My dress already had cups sewn in so that wasn’t a problem for me. Also, you can trim them if any part is showing out of the top of your dress. I think I’m going to be so comfortable on my wedding day! No underwires! No straps digging into my back fat! Like I said: a miracle!!!

With all of the strapless dresses now – i assumed there were built-in bras. Is that an option? Between the tightness of the dress, and the dress structure, can’t they provide the lift you need?
I had a corset for my dress – but you’re right – it just gives two cups for the girls to rest in – not a lot of lift. I’m a 36C – so not really big – but I’ll admit, I wondered what people any larger than me would do
