The details on the dress are stunning.  I would go for an American Bustle, you would get to keep the details on the bottom of the train.

FutureMrsLaBarthe, could we be date and dress twins?! I’m wearing Casablanca 1971 – did you figure out how to do the bustle for it? I haven’t gone for alterations yet but I have been trying to see what others have done. I agree – pictures would help! 🙂

I am also in search of the perfect bustle for a lace overlay dress very similar to yours and to the image posted by tksjewelry (stunning wedding picture, btw!).

There seem to be a couple of options for lace and delicate overlays:

The french bustle: http://unforgettablesoiree.blogspot.com/2009/02/types-of-bustles-part-ii.html.  I call it the “innie”.  See picture on right. It’s supposed to be stronger.

The english bustle: http://unforgettablesoiree.blogspot.com/2009/02/types-of-bustles-part-i.html.  I call it the “outie”.  I think this is also the American bustle – which is on the left. Its supposed to be better when the bottom of your traoin has a lot of detail you want to show off.

I would also LOVE to see some more pictures from other real brides!
