I just had my last fitting at David’s Bridal, and I have a question regarding the bustle. I noticed that my seamstress left the safety pins on my dress that she used to show my mom how to bustle my dress in the back. However, they will obviously be seen on my dress during the ceremony, when I don’t have my dress pinned up. Am I supposed to take them off or leave them on? I’m getting a bit worried because I don’t think she used any loops or ties for the bustle aside from the pins. I unfornately don’t have any pictures of the bustle or close ups of my dress with the pins on. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Um – perhaps she left them so that you could practice bustling with whomever will be doing so on your wedding day? I would hope this to be the case, anyway. They should definitely be removed before your wedding day. I would either call them or stop in to ask about it. Definitely not right.

There definitely shouldn’t be pins in there. Make sure to ask the seamstress if they’re still there…..they shouldn’t be when you pick the dress up. I’m assuming this was at a fitting you saw pins? If that’s the case, they’re probably just not finished quite yet.

I already picked up the dress on Wednesday, which was my final fitting, and the pins were definitely left on there. I think I heard the seamstress say, “just remove them later” or something to that degree during the appointment. I will definitely call and try to get this straightened out.
ETA: I just talked to my mom, and she said that the seamstress definitely had loops sewn in for the bustle. I guess she left the pins in as a guide, but I will definitely remove them for the ceremony. Thanks everyone for the help!
