Try an over bustle. I’m not a huge fan of any kind of bustle, but obviously, they’re necessary (for most people,) and I’ll have one too. Just play around with it some more.

I would go for a 1 or 3 point over-bustle. I think it’s also called the American bustle.

I would go for the American bustle as well.  Mine just pinned in one spot (although there was a hook on the inside for some of the fabric, so all the weight wasn’t on that spot and that spot alone.  However, I would get more than one spot where it is pinned.  Mine actually broke.  I wasn’t expecting it to be an issue, so I didn’t ask the seamstress to reinforce it.  However, my husband’s aunt & uncle kept making me lead a dance train, and his aunt kept stepping on the bottom of my dress and tore the attachment!

This dress would be perfert for something a little different.

Have a look at other posts for ballroom and austrian bustles!  Each are very different looks, however both would be perfect with your dress!
