angelinagonzalez :  do you gave any pics that the dress is busled but not so close up? Im intetested in tule dresses but hate most bustles so i was thinking of getting the train cut of instead of bustling it until i saw this pic!  So if you don’t mind could i see the whole dress from behind. And what is this bustle type called?

OP – Your dress is GORGEOUS! I love it.  My dress is all tulle, and getting a 5-pt french bustle put on, otherwise, it’d be miserable to dance in with the train (similar to yours).  I am not going to see it until my final fitting on Tuesday.  I’ll try to get some pictures for you though!

I never really thought of this… my dress has a back similar to OP.  HMMMMM.  Bustling is for ease of dancing?

My bridal salon decided not to bustle my dress because it had a lot of layers of tulle and my train was fairly long. They were worried that if they had used the normal methods, the tulle would get damaged by the sheer weight of the train. We ended up having to jerryrig my bustle with 8 nappy pins (which didn’t leave any sort of damage at all).

Since I wore a ballgown, we had a lot of surface area to work with. In the end, what we did was something akin to a 3 point American bustle where we crisscrossed the outer edges of my train and then brought up the center bit of it to cover the first 2 points. It wasn’t perfect but it got the job done.

Here is my dress bustled 2 different ways. The 1st pic is me & the 2nd is off Google images. I didn’t know that my dress was going to be bustled the way that it was. I assumed it would be done like the pic I had from google lol, I’m so dumb sometimes. I actually didn’t even think about it bc I had seen this pic & didn’t realize there were other ways. When it was pinned up, it looked really good. It all laid down & blended so well. I thought I hit the jackpot! I’m not saying that it ended up looking horrible…and actually I see it more & more on other dresses done like mine was…but I just don’t like how each section of the bustle sticks out & almost to a point. I dont know how or why, but it didnt do that when it was just pinned??? I’m going to add a pic that shows it better.

Stephs89 :  I thought our dresses looked like a similar shape as well! I went with the American bustle because the French bustle is a little difficult to learn how to do and it does take a longer time to do. Probably a little more expensive as well. With my maid of honor living across country I thought it would be easier to just do a 3 point or 5 point bustle. My mom already has a hard time figuring it out! Haha.

I am also doing it right below my butt, not on my waist because of all the sparkle and detail! Didn’t want to cover that up ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m glad I could help! Can’t wait to see the final product! I have my last fitting on Sunday I’ll try to get another picture!
