I bought this Vera Wang White wedding gown and am about to sort out alterations. David’s Bridal quoted me $400 and I feel it is too steep for me. I hope to bring it to a good alteration place but wanna find out how this gown should be altered. I would appreciate your sharing & if you have any picts of your gown bustled, please share too.

@JustCallMeAngel: The first time I got married I had a beautiful cinderella style wedding gown with a sweetheart neckline and lots of tulle and organza for the skirt. My seamstress at the time charged me a couple of hundred dollars for my alterations. As you have proberly realized, the alternations can be very pricey. I suggest you figure out what alternations are most needed to give you the look and comfort that you desire.
About your dress, to keep the beauty and affect that you want to acheive, I recommend, bustling you dress on the outside in 1 inch gathers just under your waistline. Make sure the gathers fold the extra material evenly and you will still keep that ballgound look in the back. Here is an example..
I hope that helps… Enjoy the fun planning of your special day!
