I think its pretty standard to wear the same dress from ceremony through reception. Most girls bustle it (special ties or buttons are placed during alterations) so it won’t get stepped on during dancing and such

I will be bustling my dress for the reception.  For the amount of money I spent on this dress, it would be ridiculous to get a second dress to change after wearing the first for 20 minutes!

I bustled mine. I loved my dress and I felt no need to buy a second one.

Buying a reception dress is a relatively new phenomenon. Traditionally, a bride just bustles or carries the train of her gown. I’m pretty sure it’s perfectly appropriate. πŸ™‚

I’m pretty sure most girls just bustle theirs. Some girls change into “going away” dresses, but that’s not until the reception’s almost over. I think reception dresses (at least in American culture) are pretty new. I bustled mine. I didn’t pay that much for a dress to wear it for an hour.

It’s been my experience that most people only have one wedding dress and will bustle it after the ceremony for the reception.

I’ve been to one wedding where the bride had more than one dress, but I loved my dress so much (and spent so much on it) that I wanted to wear it as long as I possibly could.

I think having more than one dress is a luxury, not a necessity. I am bustling my dress too!

I am bustling my dress too — I took my seamstress the post found here that was from Mrs. Nacho (search for it if you aren’t familiar!) and my seamstress was very excited about it! I think it’s going to work great with my style dress πŸ™‚
