Mine was an American bustle ( I think) it was bustled right beneath my butt on the outside of the dress, and it was $10 a bustle with 9 bustles, so $90 all together

$20 dollars a bustle does seem kind of high to me but I am not sure if the type of bustle makes that much of a difference.

I’m not sure the name of my bustle (sounds American from PPs description), but it cost me $28. My sister used the seamstress for alterations for a wedding she was in and recommended her. The only issue was that I lived out of state and couldn’t be there for her to do it, so it was a bit short in the back- no biggie. I’d keep checking around.

@Sharzan:  I had a french bustle, with 11 points. But mine were only $5/bustle, so $20 seems really high to me. (I included an unbustled and bustled picture)

I had a 2 point bustle (the satin underlay hooked to a button underneath and the lace overlay hooked to a button near my waist). I don’t remember the price offhand, but I feel it was on the expensive side due mainly to the area where I live.
