The cake was vanilla with berry filling. My friend made it for us and did not charge us so I don’t know how much it cost.

Plain buttercream icing cakes usually cost between 4 and 8 dollars per person (depending on the area you live in). Ours had 4 different flavors: Mint chocolate chip, chocolate chip, chocolate, and lemon blueerry.

Mine was buttercream. 2 layers were white with raspberry filling (my favorite) and another was coconut cake (not overly so) with lemon filling. Mine was $610 for 100 servings but about $100 of that was for the sugar flowers. Definitely worth it as it was the best cake I’ve ever had (amazing baker).

Our ceremony is small so we’re lowering it down to two tiers for 50 people. One tier white with fresh strawberry filling and other tier chocolate. Price: 200. Our inspiration:

A bakery near where we are having our wedding does absolutely gorgeous buttercream cakes! I’m not sure how much ours will cost (we want 3 layers with fresh flowers) but they also have simple buttercream cakes available on shorter notice in salted caramel and raspberry rose flavors. 6″ for $50, 9″ for $95, stacked 6″ and 9″ for $200.

This was our buttercream icing cake. The bottom and top layers were vanilla pound cake and the middle layer was chocolate. Approximately $600 with $100 delivery cost (vendor located outside Philadelphia).

Here is our buttercream icing cake. I asked for some pearliness to the icing too that doesn’t really come through in this picture. Pricing was $4 per slice for 200 guests came to $800. Layers bottom to top were strawberries and cream, chocolate, key lime, then strawberries and cream again. I actually didn’t realize until months later that one of the patterns isn’t what I requested. Oh the little things I worried about that didn’t end up mattering! It was delicious and pretty to me 🙂

Our wedding was at the end of 2012 and we went with Albertson’s (in California). We just wanted a simple red velvet. This particular store made a mean one and it was really yummy. I think we paid about $2 a slice for 180 people. Not bad.

We went with a super simple cake and added lots of pretty flowers! It cost us ~$400 for the cake this size and two sheet cakes. It was called “Martha Washington” which was described as an Italian Cream Cake without the nuts beacuse I’m allergic.

Here’s mine! Italian buttercream with white cake and lemon buttercream filling. Soo good. The lace decoration was edible. (and I made my cake toppers 😬) It was exactly as how envisioned it to be!! About $600 for 80 ppl in Paso Robles, CA.

Our baker only works with buttercream, and we can’t WAIT to taste our wedding cake. We wish we could wear disguises and go back for another tasting session, lol. Ours will be tiers of pink champagne with raspberry filling, pink champagne with apricot filling, and Italian cream cake with cream cheese buttercream filling. The shells are white chocolate. We’ll be feeding about 65 people. Total cost is close to $500, but that includes the (also awesome) groom’s cake.

Here’s mine. It turned out not looking quite like I wanted (mostly due to how the florist did the flowers on the cake) but it was still pretty and delicious! We did the traditional wedding cake flavor. It was $250 plus delivery but price depends so much on your location.
