I am just really needing to vent a little bit about this. I bought our flower girl dress from an online store called Maylee’s Boutique. They have gorgeous dresses and great prices. I placed my order on 1/4/10. I emailed the store on 1/7/10 to get an idea on when it would ship. I never heard from them. I called Monday and no one answered and there was no message on the machine saying they were closed. I finally got a hold of someone at 3:00pm. She said she would call me back with the tracking number. Ok, fine. No biggie. She calls and leave a message on my voicemail and said it shipped 1/10/11 by UPS and she had the tracking number. I called 1/11/11 to get the tracking number and she put me on hold for 10 minutes to go find it. Gives me the number and I look it up when I got home. Says not recieved by UPS yet. Ok. Not a problem. Checked again today, same message. So I call and ask what is going on. She said, oh, I ended up sending it Priority Mail. Ok, don’t you think that would have been a useful piece of info to call and tell me. She says she didn’t have my number. I reminded her that she had left a message for me on 1/10/11 so she did have it. I asked her why she didn’t let me know of this change. I asked for the tracking number. Line goes silent. I say, Hello. She said she was looking for the number. I said that this is pretty poor customer service that for 1) she didn’t bother to tell me that shipping had changed and 2)not having the info readily available. She then gets really snotty and interrupting me and finally says I need to go away and hangs up on me. I call back and of course she doesn’t answer. So I emailed her and told I would be filing a dispute with paypal, a complaint with the Attorney General and the BBB.
She emails me back with the tracking number and says customer service doesn’t mean she needs to put up with abuse. Not once did I raise my voice or say anything derogatory to her. I emailed her back and told her that customer service is keeping your customers informed of pertinent information and providing that information to them when asked. I also told her that if anyone had been abused it was me by her. She got snotty, rude, yelled at me and hung up on me. I told her that anyone in customer service would have been fired for those actions and her being the owner should know better.
She does have beautiful things on her site, but customer service and follow through are lacking. I am not trying to ‘get’ her or anything, but I just need to vent and make others aware.
