I think it’s a GREAT idea! that’s a pretty expensive gift, so I feel like they will be touched. one iPad is better than no iPads!  maka a joke to them that they have to share fairly πŸ™‚

I’m buying my parents a kindle touch to share. I think they’ll really like it!

Umm no, not crappy to me. Darling Husband and I share well and we plan to only get 1. We have the laptop if something is needed at the same time.

Why would they need 2 anyway? If they like it so much they can always buy another for the other person, but sharing is a great idea!

Besides, ipads are a real extravagent gift to buy for one person, let alone 2 – I would say your idea is a practical one πŸ™‚

An ipad is a very generous gift and very thoughtful if they have a problem with sharing one ipad…they have some problems of their own. My Future In-Laws and my parents are obsessed with them and they are no way tech savvy. They both only have 1 to be used between them and Future Mother-In-Law and my mom. My mom does hint at wanting one of her own, but it’s not a big deal.

I don’t think it’s a crappy gift at all. We have been giving our in-laws one gift for both of them to share.

@UpstateCait: FI and I each have our own iPads, too, and could never share either, but this is different. It’s an big gift to give, especially when saving for your wedding, and two is a lot, especially for the same household! I think one is plenty for them to share! πŸ™‚

I don’t have one – but I think one is cooler than NONE!  Plus, if they can’t share – they will pony up and get their own.  πŸ™‚

Nope, it’s fine. We got the ILs a Touch last year and they both loved it. Although Father-In-Law never gets to use it! πŸ˜‰ But we got it for them primarily for FaceTime and they both get to enjoy that portion!

My Father-In-Law gave us one iPad for our wedding gift.  We were not offended.
