@retreadbride:

Their prices are very reasonable…actually I was shocked at the quality of the gowns they had for the price tags I saw.  They definitely had gowns below $1,000 and the majority I saw were in the $1200 – $1500 range and the gowns were GORGEOUS!  I had been to several other shops prior to going there and was in sticker shock with some of the gowns I saw.  The quality of the gowns in the other shops I visited were terrible compared to the prices they were asking.  I am budget minded (aren’t we all these days) and from what I recall they mentiontioned that as an authorized retailer they sell their gowns at the lowest prices that are allowed by the manufacturers.  Basically, my words, not their words, they don’t mark their gowns up to give you a “fake” discount like it appears many other retailers do.

I totally know how you feel (although I am not going to look at any more dresses).  I am a street size 18/20 and most of the samples were 14 or 16, some 12’s (which I couldn’t even get over my head or past my butt!).  Fortunately my I tried on my dress in a 24 which was HUGE on me.  Trying on a too-large dress is sometimes just

as difficult as a too-small dress–you still can’t get the “big picture”.  I loved my dress, though, even though I thought I wanted the “Cinderella ball gown” all these years.  I went to another store after debating what to do since it wasn’t my “dream dress” (it’s a mermaid style) and it was hanging in the window!!  Unfortunately, it was a size 12 sample.  I tried on a few dresses there (all too small, of course) and fell for another one.  One that had a big skirt and was gorgeous!  But I couldn’t get that other dress out of my head.  The next day I drove to the other store to try “my” dress on, then drove to the other store to try the other dress on.  I still couldn’t decide.  The consultant had me stand far away from the mirror, and told me that this is how other people would see me in the dress.  I didn’t like it as much.  So, even though I couldn’t judge the other dress that way, I decided to go with it.  Here’s the pics:

This is my dress I ultimately went with (sorry I don’t have a picture of me in it)

And here is the other dress I really loved also:

I ultimately loved the feel of a fitted gown and never thought I would ever love a mermaid gown on my figure.  I have somewhat pf a larger tummy and the way the fabric is and the style it doesn’t accentuate it like you would think.  I am in love with the flower shoulder strap, it goes diagonally across the back.  I want to have a hair flower that matches, and maybe add a matching belt (like the other dress has ) or some extra bling somewhere.

I’m really glad to be reading that other brides feel unsure about their decisions, regardless of whether they decide to buy another dress later on.  It makes me feel normal!  I wish you luck in finding your dream dress!!  Oh, by the way, when I made my decision, I did cry, but it was because I felt so overwhelmed and scared that I made the wrong choice!  But every time I see a picture of my dress I get a huge goofy grin on my face so it must be right!!

I know that you are in doubt about the corset back – but when you get one that fits you properly, it’s AMAZING what they do to your waist. I’m all for your getting the dress from the second Kleinfeld’s visit!

That second dress from your last Kleinfeld visit is AMAZING on you.  It whittles your waist down to NOTHING.  It’s beautiful!  I say go with Keasha…she knows what’s up! 🙂

I looooove the Alita on you!  Better than the La Sposa.  I hear what you are saying on the Adore though, and that is a beautiful dress as well.  See if you can hunt down a different sample size for the Adore somewhere closer than Kleinfelds, or go back one more time.  It’s worth getting it right!  If you can save the $1,800, it would be well worth it for you to hunt down the Adore.  I think that might be your winner!
