Yes, 100%. I do love wearing dresses and pretty much had the same experience you describe: found a dress I love, realized it was a major designer dress at a Priscilla of Boston (which were out of biz), it was listed as $3500 in the store! and now was discontinued.  I tried on other dresses at David’s and another store, but ended up ordering a replica overseas.  I’m very happy with my decision.  Good luck to you!

I personally would not buy a wedding dress without trying it on, but I have an extremely annoying figure. I have to try on EVERYTHING before I buy it, because 9 x out of 10 it won’t suit my shape. So if you have a figure that allows you to pick something off a rack, without trying it on and 99% of the time it will look fine, then go for it. If you do not have one of these body shapes, I’d suggest you keep shopping. I ended up buying something for $650 from a bridal store that I love. There are SO many beautiful dresses out there.

I ordered from China and was very happy. I would suggest trying on something in a similar cut to the dress you’d like to order, though.

I ordered a dress from JBS which I did not try on. I tried on MANY dresses, but I was looking for a non-traditional style- ie- Jenny Packham, Pettibone, etc. I found Gwendolynne Burkin from Australia. I saw her Cleopatra dress and thought it was just what I was looking for. I worked with Jasmine’s and they made my dress and I love it.

If you know what styles generally look good on you, you may be fine ordering one tha is similar to other dresss styles you’ve tried (trumpet, fit/flare, sheath). Mine is sheath style, so a little less risky I guess.

Here is my posting about JBS in case you’re interested.

I personally would not buy a wedding dress without trying it on.  I’m assuming it’s non returnable non refundable correct?  Too risky for me unless it’s at a super amazing price and that godforbid I hated it there was still enough time to order a dress through a bridal salon.

My dress was an Etsy dress from California and it was perfect. Worried at first and I didnt even go try on other dresses at all. This was the dress I wanted, sent them the pic, sent them my measurements and TA DA!!! It was perfect. So I would say yes. Here are my pics

I purchased my dress without trying it on. I saw it in person though and even held it up to myself and looked in a mirror. The thrift store I purchased from had no fitting room. If you know your exact measurements, ordering online should not be a problem.
