    Yes, I have done it.

No, but it's a good idea.

No, I wear my original everywhere.

I have worn my original everywhere or gone without a ring. When traveling to a foriegn country, even one that is poor, I where my ring. Sometimes I turn it around so the diamonds are facing my palm instead to the world. When I cook, am in the ocean or a pool they are in a safe place. Once I get married I will be more likely to leave my e-ring behind when I do things. My Future Mother-In-Law wears hers about half of the time. The other time she just wears the band.

Nope. If I’m afraid to loose my ring I probably leave it at home. I think it doesn’t matter if I go a few days or a week without my ring it won’t be me any less engaged or married when I get married.

I just seems like a waste of money, and I have no desire to buy a cheap ring to wear around.

@mrsSonthebeach:  There was no “need” for me. I just wanted to wear one.

In the grand scheme of things, it’s a small, unnecessary purchase. People spend more on personalized napkins, tears of joy packets, and tissue poofs than I did on my stand in.

@heathuhhhhwebbbb:  I have an almost exact replica of my ring except the centre stone is bigger in CZ and the ring part is silver plated metal. You can hardly tell it is fake until you put it next to my real ring!!! The only thing is I cant wear it in the Ocean on a vacation or the plated meatl will wash off. The ring I got was the model that sits in the jewellery case at the jewellery store cause the owner is a friend so she just gave it to me.

Yes…I bought one. I have a real diamond 1 ct solitaire set in platinum and I have a stand in that is a 1 ct signity cz. I seriously cannot tell the difference!! believe me, I try – lol. The signity is sterling and that is the only way I can tell (the weight of the ring since the platinum ring is heavy). I just wore it for a wonderful one week stay in the hospital….they always say to not wear jewelry to the hospital. I wore my stand in.

On that same note however, I also  have a faux 2 ct signity that I LOVE and wear when I am in the mood for a little more size/bling. I am looking through Berricle for a halo and band set for those times I want something different. I like change, and I have varying tastes depedning on my mood, so I enjoy my Cz’s as much as my real diamond. I also have a few different bands…one is a huge hand made yellow gold with diamonds and rubies that was my grandmothers and I wear that often. That one doesnt go with a ering (too big) si I am looking for a nice 14 kt yellow gold cz to wear on my right hand when I wear the big band 🙂

The whole ering/wedding band thing is a symbol to me….the emotion attached is based on the relationship, so the actual piece of jewelry doesnt hold the emotion for me.

I love my real diamond, but I still think the cost was ridiculous. I am a CZ lover…always have been.

I love CZ rings and have a lot for fun, but I don’t think there’s a point in wearing one as a stand in for percieved safety purposes. I feel like it would put you at the same or greater risk of mugging (which is already negligible), sice CZ is often at least a carat equivalent. It’s not like criminals are jewelry experts who will write your ring off as a fake from a distance. Plus, I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving my real jewelry behind unless it was in a bank vault. Break-ins often happen when people are on vacation.

I would only not wear it on vacation if I was planning a water-soaked or otherwise extremely physical trip which would require me to leave my ring in the hotel room safe most of the time.

I love fun CZ rings, and I own a couple. But I don’t think I’d do a stand-in ring. I have a platinum floral diamond eternity band that I wear when I don’t want to wear my engagement ring (since it is quite large), and that serves me just fine.

I don’t think I’d want to buy a blingy stand-in, since usually I want a stand-in to be sort of muted.

I’ve been married twice before. and between those, was engaged to a friend. he bought me a small-ish solitiare, and while gorgeous, the stone was pretty high set on the longer style prongs. at the time, i was working in a nursing home. another younger CNA and I had an unfortunate accident with a resident, and when I fell, my ring somehow got hung on something. The night stand, the floor, who know. when I checked my hand (b/c I felt the ring pull my skin), i realized that 2 of the 5 prongs were gone, and so was my stone. I knew it was fine when we walked in, b/c the resident had heard I was engaged, and asked to see the ring. We never found the stone.

Thankfully, the PX fixed it, but it took a couple months, being it was purchased while XFH was in Okinawa and I had to take it to Ft. Hood. I told my then Fiance, that if it was ok with him, I was just going to buy a cheap eternity band from walmart in the birthstone section. He agreed, and I just bought one that was his birthstone(October-Opal)…after that, I only wore my E-Ring, on my days off, or when I knew I was working a split shift, b/c the split shift was when I’d go in, and only help with meals, or on the alzheimers unit, and I didn’t have to do any lifting whatsoever.

I’m a big fan of a GOOD CZ. FH says he just wants to get me one I’ll wear forever. So even though he doesn’t like the idea of the eternity band, the set I want is almost the exact one that the 2 PP’s have shown on here. I’m just hoping to find one that’s only 3/4 eternity, to ease his fear that I’ll mess it up.

Nope. I just don’t wear rings if I think it’s a risky situation (beach, gym, whatever). Like PP mentioned, I also don’t like to wear fake anything.

    @mrsSonthebeach:

My “need” is that I’m 7.5 months pregnant and my fingers swelled up so much (from a 4.5 to a 6), that I can’t wear my originals. I had two wedding bands and my engagement ring and I recently had to have my wedding bands cut off of my finger. I bought a cheap replacement set so I wouldn’t have to go without wearing rings for the mext month and a half or so. I don’t want to risk getting my “real” rings resized at this point, so I’m wearing these until after our baby is born and I can get my rings resized again.

@SpookyRooster:  Eh, I’m 39.5 weeks pregnant. I just don’t wear my rings when I’m too swollen, but to each her own.
